Are you eager to learn, take ownership, and build your skills in project management? Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a highly motivated Junior Project Leader who is ready to develop as a project leader within an organisation that values and strives for operational excellence.
About the role
Airbus Defence and Space is a European leader in defence and one of the world’s leading space businesses. They provide efficient, technologically advanced solutions in aerospace, defence, and connected services, working closely with NATO and national defence organisations both in Norway and around the world. Their role is to provide trusted, cutting-edge technologies that help nations protect their citizens and critical assets.

In Norway, Airbus Defence and Space have 40 employees located across two offices in Lysaker and Holmsbu. The company operates under a matrix organisational structure, with collaboration and projects spanning multiple departments and countries. The most common projects involve delivering hardware and software for communication systems. These are often large, complex projects involving both internal and external stakeholders who expect high quality, adherence to formal standards, and a professional approach.

As a Project Leader, you will have end-to-end responsibility for project delivery and coordination, which includes maintaining customer dialogue and managing project budgets. Depending on project size and complexity, you may manage a single project or handle several simultaneously. You will be working closely with cross-functional disciplines such as engineering, testing, configuration management, quality, and supply chain.

Initially, you will join ongoing projects to shadow experienced colleagues, learn best practices, and gradually gain hands-on experience across different areas of project management. As you grow into the role, you will progressively assume greater responsibility and may also support pre-sales activities to gain insight into the commercial side of project execution.
