Stillingsbeskrivelse
About the Role
StormGeo operates in an increasingly AI-first forecasting environment, where forecast quality, speed, and differentiation depend on how data is structured, governed, and made available through platforms, APIs, and map services.
In this role, you will own and evolve a defined product area covering weather-domain data, APIs, and GIS-based map services. You will be responsible for ensuring these solutions are technically robust, scalable, and consistently delivered across StormGeo’s products. The role combines strong technical product ownership with hands-on execution and serves as a key coordination point between Product, Engineering, Data, and industry product teams.
Your mission is to ensure that StormGeo’s data, API, and map service products are consistent, AI-ready, and easy to consume, enabling internal product and development teams to work faster with clear ownership and priorities. You will proactively manage cross-product and cross-industry dependencies, while focusing on delivery quality, usability, and adoption as measurable outcomes.
📍This position is based in Bergen, or Oslo, Norway. Other StormGeo office locations may be considered as well.
Main Responsibilities
• Own a defined product area within data platforms, APIs, and map services.
• Define, prioritize, and maintain product requirements, user stories, and supporting documentation.
• Contribute to roadmap definition and ongoing refinement with the Product Director.
• Own and manage the backlog; prepare tickets and support sprint planning with development teams.
• Use usage metrics and feedback from internal teams and customers to guide iteration and improvement.
• Define and maintain logical reference models for data, including schemas, metadata standards, and lifecycle rules.
• Establish principles for data quality, consistency, versioning, and backward compatibility
• Set direction for internal and customer-facing APIs and map services, treating them as long-lived product components.
• Define standards for geospatial data usage, projections, tiling, and rendering consistency where relevant.
• Ensure technical decisions support future scalability, modelling flexibility, and spatial use cases.
• Coordinate delivery and dependencies across Product, Engineering, Data, GIS, and CST-facing teams.
• Validate delivered functionality through hands-on testing and technical review, including API behavior and map outputs.
Core Requirements
• Experience in technical product ownership or product management for data platforms, APIs, and/or GIS or map-based services.
• Solid understanding of data modelling, APIs, and geospatial or map service concepts.
• Ability to write clear, technically grounded requirements and user stories.
• Experience working in agile, cross-functional StormGeo-style product teams.
• Analytical mindset; comfortable using data and usage insights to support prioritization
• Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and clearly document outcomes.
Company offers
• Global mission - Every day, we enable our clients to navigate a changing environment by unlocking the value of data.
• Smart, creative, and innovative environment, where you'll work alongside a talented and supportive team of professionals.
• Hybrid Work Model.
• International development opportunities to support your professional growth.
