Stillingsbeskrivelse
DeepOcean is a world-leading, technology-driven provider of ocean services, enabling the energy transition and sustainable use of ocean resources. We are investing heavily in remote operations, unmanned surface vessels (USVs), intelligent ROV solutions, digital twin technology, and artificial intelligence. We are now looking for a Technology Engineer to join our forward-thinking team, based in Haugesund, Bergen, Oslo or Stavanger.
The Innovation & Technology department drives DeepOcean’s long-term competitiveness by developing strategic technology initiatives that enhance operational performance and unlock new business opportunities. We focus on forward-looking projects, improving existing solutions, and creating new capabilities through close collaboration across disciplines.Â
To succeed in this role, you need the ability to understand complex systems and solutions, see the bigger picture, and identify what is needed and how to achieve it — while still wanting to dive into the details and solve challenges at the core. You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, collaborating with clients, colleagues, and partners — on site as well as remotely.
Duties and responsibilities
• Investigate and advise on technology areas such as autonomy, ROV tooling, relevant hardware such as sensors, remote technologies, software development etc.
• Lead internal and external project meetings and processes related to innovation and technology projects. Liaise with management and the legal department as required.
• Lead projects and internal resources involved in the projects, ensuring delivery on timelines and goals.
• Follow up sub-contractors.
• Create business cases for projects with promising technology and value to the company.
• Present cases to the department and senior management.
• Contribute to funding processes, identify possible mergers and acquisitions, and evaluate and apply for patents.
• Take initiative and collaborate with other departments such as Engineering and Senior Management.
• Travel to conferences and meetings as needed.  Â
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree within mechanical engineering, subsea, automation, cybernetics, electronics, marine, energy, industrial engineering or similar.Â
• Subsea industry experience and/or technical understanding of ROVs.
• Relevant experience may compensate for formal education.
• Commercial mindset.
Personal Qualities
• Interest in technical topics and awareness of changes in the industry.
• Ability to come up with new ideas or improvements for the industry.
• Good communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
Â
Why will you enjoy working with us?
We believe a great workplace is more than just a job – it’s about people, culture, and opportunities to grow. Here’s what makes working with us rewarding:
• A fast-paced and team-oriented work environment – we have fun at work!
• Varied challenges, great development opportunities, and the chance to make an impact in a global organization.
• Favorable travel insurance (including family members), health insurance, and pension plans (including AFP), as well as subsidies for physical activity.
• Flexible working hours and a strong focus on work-life balance, so you can thrive both at work and at home.
• Access to three company cabins for leisure and relaxation.
• After work activity groups for E-sport, football, padel, jogging, climbing and more!
We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and workplace. We value inclusion, equality and diversity and encourage all qualified candidates to apply.
