About the position and Seram Coatings
Seram Coatings AS is a young company with great growth potential. The company is based on a unique patented invention, which makes it possible to use silicon carbide in thermal spraying. Our product is a thermal spray powder with brand name ThermaSiC which produces a protective coatings for a variety of industrial applications. The customers are international and Norwegian companies who use thermal spraying in multiple industries.
The company is head-quartered at Herøya Industrial Park in Porsgrunn, where sales, technology, production and administration is located. The company has an international team of 15 highly qualified employees. The company has a state-of-the-art thermal spray booth used actively in product development and customer support.
To strengthen our growth, we are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer in the Sales and Business Development department. As Technical Sales Engineer in Seram Coatings you will be involved in several development projects in our value chain with the following primary objectives.
• Act as sales representative and technical specialist towards Seram Coatings selected customers.
• Support customers in correct use and application of ThermaSiC
• Manage interaction and commercial process with selected customers
• Drive internal development to optimize the products of Seram Coatings in collaboration with the Technology team based on customer interactions
Main responsibilities
• Work closely with current and new customers. Understand customer business needs and recommend continuous improvement and innovation plans that will maintain and grow sales
• Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders in current and new customer organizations
• Generate and execute sales plans in assigned customer base and new customer accounts. Identify and present Seram Coatings opportunities and benefits
• Provide technical support to customers; identifying and resolving customer issues, escalating as required. This includes visiting customers to support them technically
• Engage in problem solving by performing system analysis, interpreting data and providing written recommendations to ensure customer operations are performing at optimal levels.
• Interact with customers to identify potential product improvement in collaboration with the Technology Team
• Support Technology Team in internal coating operations related to customer support and to develop Seram Coatings coating expertise
• Frequent travel should be expected
Profile
• Minimum 3 years experience with thermal coating techniques
• Commercial mindset
• Good communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing
• Proactively searching commercial and technical opportunities
• Open and honest, building trust and dialogue with customers
• Pragmatic and open to change
