Join us in transforming the oil and gas industry by providing advanced control and information systems to support our technology to provide Well Access for our customers. We are now looking for a dedicated engineer to develop our software and hardware solutions within 4Subsea Astori in Sandnes.
An exciting opportunity has arisen as Software Engineer in our 4Subsea Astori team in Sandnes. Filling this role, you will be working within embedded real-time control systems and windows technology to support our Information Management Systems, with a variety of tasks ranging from development to testing and implementation.
Responsibilities and Work tasks
Working as a Software Engineer within embedded real-time and Information Management Systems includes the following:
Key responsibilities:
• Develop, test and maintain software for Subsea Control Modules (SCMs) and related embedded hardware/software platforms.
• Contribute to the Well Information Management System (WIMS), using measurement data to enhance analysis models and decision-making.
• Establish and manage subsea communication protocols with supplier equipment.
• Integrate multiple systems into a unified topside Information Management System.
• Design and maintain Human--Machine Interfaces (HMI) using SCADA software or similar platforms.
• Provide input on system architecture, regulatory compliance and interface design.
• Support assembly and testing of hardware to validate software integration and performance.
Project & Delivery Work:
• Participate in project follow-up, ensuring timely and quality delivery of software components.
• Prepare and maintain documentation packages related to software and system deliveries.
• Conduct testing and verification as part of both product development and project execution.
Additional Activities:
• Support base operations and internal projects.
• Take part in periodic offshore assignments when required.
• Contribute to other tasks within 4Subsea Astori’s Well Access Service
Requirements
• Min 10 years professional experience
• BSc/MSc degree -- preferably from Automation, Process Automation or Cybernetics
• Programming skills in C/C++/C#, Labview, Python
• Knowledge of real-time operating systems (Linux/QNX)
• Knowledge of the use of dashboards, MS Power BI or similar
• A relevant Certificate of apprenticeship/vocational training is considered an advantage.

• Strong language skills - fluency in English, preferably also in Norwegian, is required
